Former «Postbank Karree», Munich

Herzog & de Meuron/VOGT wins the development competition of the former Postbank complex in Munich's Bahnhofviertel.

The team's concept envisages a conversion of the existing structure, of which around 80 percent of the shell substance is to be retained and thus presents a solution with a good sustainability balance, shortened construction time and reduced emissions.

Centrepiece and attractive meeting point for the entire neighborhood will be the central courtyard garden. The many existing smaller courtyards will be combined to form a large green area. Away from the noise of the streets, the garden becomes an attraction.
