Lecture by Günther Vogt at Istanbul Modern

Günther Vogt is invited by Istanbul Modern to speak on January 15th, 6pm in the context of Olafur Eliasson’s ongoing exhibition.

His talk will discuss perceptions of landscape from Switzerland and other regions, exploring its transformation over time in relation to national identity and the cultural production of space. In his lecture, titled "Expectations and Encounters“, he examines the use of landscape imagery as a design tool, drawing on the work of Vogt Landscape Architects and considers the process of designing landscape as a cultural production that shape the way we see the world around us. The public event will present projects such as the LIFE exhibition at the Beyeler Museum in Basel and the Roof Garden at the MET in New York, realised in collaboration with artists Olafur Eliasson and Dan Graham, respectively. Following its debut in Istanbul, the talk will also take place in Ankar on January 17th.
