Karst Landscape
Karst landscapes are a combination of soluble rocks such as limestone, dolomite, and gypsum and are characterized by underground cavern systems and dissolved bedrock on surface level. As a feature commonly found in many parts of the Alps, this geological formation served as the basis of design for the creation of a weathered landscape. The land features are scaled to better accommodate the human body, a negotiation between the courtyard and the geographic history of the site.
