SITC - Swiss Insurance Training Center, Zurich
Detail in Context
Until the villa was built at the beginning of the last century, the garden was part of the adjacent landscaped Belvoir Park. At the beginning of the 20th century, the site along the lake road was divided into lots to accommodate an ensemble of bourgeois gardens. The simultaneous remodelling of the villa into a training centre also meant a remodelling of the garden.
By means of spatial organisation and visual penetration, the design of the external space tries to render the various sediments of history – the historic and the newly added substances and interventions – in a concrete and readable manner.
The details reveal the conceptual approach to the design and the overall context.
