Participation in the Workshop Process Campus Von-Melle-Park Hamburg

Vogt Landscape recently took part in a three-day workshop on the development of the Von-Melle-Park campus in Hamburg. The campus, built in the 1960s, is mainly listed. In collaboration with BPW Urban Planning and CF Møller Architects specific interventions were investigated and new buildings and extensions positioned. The open spaces are highly compacted, and their spatial structure is barely legible. Our task will be to clarify the layout, reclaim open spaces and revitalise them. At the same time, there is potential for adjustments: the campus was originally conceived as a self-contained entity. Today, it is to open up more towards the city and become more visible within the urban fabric. Its uses are also to become more diverse and public to create a lively urban space.

Following this productive workshop process, two further presentations will take place. This will be followed by a four-week working phase to develop a set of recommendations on which the city can base a framework plan.
